February 2020 Hawk Sighting
I saw a Red-Tailed Hawk today soaring over the Trafficway towards the North. I imagined it hadn't a care in the world to be soaring so peacefully and effortlessly over trees and cars and apartment buildings and houses. I scan the skies and barren treetops for hawks regularly and was about to give up looking because I haven't seen one in a long time. I began to think that hawk-sightings and their purpose in my life was finished. Then, I began to ponder what exactly HAS been the purpose of these sightings? Are the birds personal messengers from people like my mom who no longer reside in this plane of existence? Are they a message of some other type for me? Hawks soar and scan for threats and food. Maybe, this is a reminder to scan and assess my life from a larger perspective. Perhaps, the sighting is my clue to remember to listen to my intuition.
