The Mandalorian & Dean Winchester
Seven minutes into Episode 1 of Season 2 of "The Mandalorian" and I am randomly struck by the similarities between The Mandalorian and Dean Winchester, one of the fictional brothers from the TV show, "Supernatural". They are both arrogantly and, yet, admirably brave. Actually, in Dean Winchester's case, it could be a bluff but it is backed up by incredible self- confidence. With odds seemingly stacked against them, as in numerous creatures of some sort against one of them, do not deter them or cause them to capitulate to more powerful forces with, often, preternatural abilities. They have a quiet, unshakeable confidence in their own abilities to emerge on the other side of any altercation alive and victorious albeit often bruised and bloodied. Possibly, Dean Winchester is the more impressive of the two because he does not continuously wear a suit of armour made out of Beskar Steel. He goes into situations with weapons and his quick-thinking ability to adapt to any situation and win with whatever tools are available in the moment. Neither of these are real people but they both operate off deeply entrenched personal value systems. I admire that about both of them.
