New Madrid Theater Observations

My son & I live right next to the Madrid Theater which is sometimes a theater and, sometimes, like tonight, a wedding venue. It was a beautiful day for a wedding in KCMO, a bright and shiny August Day. A Party Bus dropped off a lot of beautiful, young people; handsome, young men in tuxedos and pretty women in beautiful summer dresses. I saw 2 dresses that I particularly liked mostly because of the colors.

One dress was a rich, vibrant red worthy of a hot August sun & the other one was an asymmetrical style in midnight blue. Really, the midnight blue dress should have looked stultifying in the same August sun & heat that brought the red dress to life but it was the only dress that out of all the dresses I saw besides the red one that I remember. The sun irradiated it & lit it from within. I only saw the bride from the back. Her sleeveless dress was a beautiful ivory color.

I walked my dog, Heisenberg, past the front of the theater later as the reception was in full swing. I have driven by the theater many, many times but walking by and looking in the windows at the wedding reception in progress revealed a really beautiful interior. A shorter bald man wedding guest was standing outside and said "Hi" to HB as we walked by. He told me Heisenberg looked a lot like his Jack Russell Terrier back in Iowa. Heisenberg could be a lot of kinds of dogs most probably a Papillon or a Long-Haired Chihuahua or a combo of the 2 breeds but Jack Russell Terrier . . . I'm not seeing it. I wanted to ask where he was from in Iowa because I lived there @ one time in my youth but another man came outside and asked if he was okay and they went back inside for more wedding festivities. Heisenberg and I made our way around the block and back to our new place, I saw a group of 4 wedding guests walking north across Main Street at 38th and away from the wedding festivities. There were 2 younger girls in pretty, floral dresses in the quartet. It was probably getting late for them.

I wanted to sit outside and be a wedding activity voyeur but it's August and hot as heck outside still at night. Heisenberg doesn't handle heat well in my opinion & we needed to get back inside in AC for him. We stepped back outside on the porch later because I wanted to see what was going on and Heisenberg is my Velcro-dog, my shadow. There was a large group of raucous wedding guests in front of the theater cheering as a really cute, little, white motorized chariot did a U-turn in front of the theater and headed north on Main Street. The back of the chariot said "Just Married".

My personal experience of weddings is such that, whenever I see one in progress, I always hope that the bride & groom have a good and happy life together because I didn't when I got married. I am a bit disillusioned on the idea of love and not at all like my 61-year-old brother who recently got married for the 3rd time. He must still believe in love. I had a beautiful wedding dress however and beautiful dresses are everything.
