Terrance Coleman & A$AP Rocky

When I was growing up, we called Ubers & Lyfts, taxis. I still call them that but, if I mention taking a taxi to one work to one of my young coworkers, they look at me & say "Taxi?" like they don't understand it & they probably don't.

Last week, I took a LYFT to work one day when it was really cold. When the driver picked me up, I didn't recognize him but he remembered me. A lot of Lyft & Uber drivers play generic music appropriate for any demographic and many don't care who is riding in their cars & play all kinds of music. I actually prefer these drivers because I like a lot of current music as well. I liked whatever song he was playing & said so & then asked if it was $ASAP Rocky because I THOUGHT I recognized the voice. Well, it wasn't #ASAP Rocky & the driver told me the name of the artist who was unfamiliar to me. But, then.

Then, he said, "But $ASAP Rocky was on in the car last time I picked you up". Enough said almost. I, then, really looked at the driver or as much as I could see from the rear passenger seat & realized he WAS Terrance Coleman, the driver, from a previous ride. I remembered his name & his person after he said that & told him he had an incredible memory. I, then, asked specifically about the $ASAP Rocky song that was playing on the previous ride. I had never heard it before nor did I know the name of the song. In fact, I thought #ASAP Rocky was too hardcore Rap for me to ever like. Well, you learn something everyday. After I got out of the car on the previous ride, I "googled" the rap lyrics & found the name of the song & I have listened to it many times since my original ride with Terrance Coleman AND added it to my You Tube Music playlist. Good rap is good poetry ultimately & probably, inadvertently, uses a lot of poetic framework. The song is called "Praise the Lord" and the rap lyric chorus (if you will) is very catchy . . . "I praise the Lord and break the law" . . . "I praise the Lord and break the law".
